Hate, the Age-old Propaganda Tool

Rulers of ancient empires knew well the power of hate to manipulate their restless masses into desired agendas: channel it against a designated evil enemy, thus diverting it neatly from the rulers. They knew too that it is powerful feeling that drives human actions, much more than man’s “mind,” used mainly to rationalize already entrenched emotions. Roman rulers galvanized the masses against new-found enemies all across Europe, conveniently piling up power and money; popes and priests rallied the faithful against hated heretics. Among ancient illiterates, propaganda by autocrats was a snap: with sole control of information flow, mold minds at will, identify enemies to hate. Safe uniformity of belief and public emotions was assured.
Modern propagandizing of the “politically correct” is in principle the same, only its methods much more sophisticated in today’s literate democracies. Voting masses must be persuaded by deftly sifted information more than blindly forced. Fortunately for high-tech propagandists, most Americans are narrowly preoccupied, barely keeping pace in their demanding specialties and rat-race work schedules. They’re much too busy to wade through deluges of information overload or carefully critique the News as “summarized” in the leftist-controlled media and TV. Thus simplistic “slants” on world events easily suffice to mold uniform belief and channel public emotion along approved liberal party lines. (Since both American parties are now liberal-left to the core, differing only in cosmetic degrees, the liberal slant dominates the major media and legislation. The masses elect liberals, whether Democrats or Republicans.)
The modern slant-tactic was perfected by the brilliant Nazi propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels (Ph.D., history): go beyond mere lying; employ subtle modes of truths such as partial, limited, incomplete or out-of-context; then repetition. The most credible lie is one that’s 90% factual but weaves into it the 10% falsified “slant.” Most people are too busy or mentally shallow to pick up on it; repeat it often enough, it will be believed.
Goebbels’ propaganda tactics worked like magic, converting in only two decades a generation of otherwise intelligent Germans into the irrational and bizarre doctrine of Nazism (only a World War defeated that “new world order”). Now, besting Goebbels in tactics but more patient in time line, America’s national media and TV networks (along with Government schools and university liberals, both revisionist and reconstructionist) constitute a vast propaganda machine to transform America into its new doctrine: total racial integration of the American society (aided by massive immigration of non-whites). Racial integration not only in schools and neighborhoods but also in our most private social institutions, including marriage and genetic-DNA merging of the American races ultimately into Clinton’s “One America.” (TV doses us endlessly with prescribed race-mixing, especially of kids by quota and interracial sex such as flirting and hugging, all aimed at gradually normalizing hybrid marriage and children as America’s future.) Older folks might resist the new order, but propagandists throughout history succeed by attrition: indoctrinate the young in government (or Church) schools with the new beliefs; the old will die off along with their obsolete traditions.
This is textbook cultural Marxism, achieved first by “revolution” (tear down the old and “evil” values of Western civilization), then “reconstruct” the new and “correct” egalitarian society. Thus today’s ever-repeated core “slant” is harmonious racial “diversity” in every neighborhood and school, this orthodoxy contrasted with Euro-whites portrayed as historic slavers, oppressors and haters. Typical example in TV news coverage: a white kills a black, the white hatred is repeated for days in TV coverage to reinforce white shame. That’s the slant (out-of-context). The true context is Justice Department facts, shrewdly ignored: violent crime by blacks against whites is 50 times more frequent than the opposite! Repeating only the rare white crime firmly brands whites as “supremacists” and “haters”- and, by association, any groups advocating Euro-white values.
Pervading the new American propaganda is its equivocal use and manipulation of the key words “hate” and “hate-speech.” Cynically disregarded are its diverse connotations ranging from atrocious murder and nihilistic rage to clearly constructive “hate” which is just, patriotic or even divine. “Hate” is often the flip-side of “love” and an identical part of it. To hate crime is to love its opposite, justice. To hate and defend against an attacking enemy is to love and protect one’s family or country. The Bible is full of God’s “hate” against sin (love of righteousness); Jesus hated the hypocritical Pharisees and wrecked their temple.
In America’s beginnings, “hate-speech” became the essence of freedom of speech. Tom Paine’s Common Sense is one of the most hate-filled writings in American history. He excoriated every shred of centralized tyranny over the colonies in all its oppressive details. So with the pamphlets of James Otis, Sam Adams and other patriots. The Declaration of Independence brims with “hate” in its 27 angry charges against evil authority. Paine even explained his “hate:” “I mean not to provoke revenge but to awaken us from fatal and unmanly slumbers, that we pursue determinately some fixed object [i.e. freedom and rights].” His “hate-speech” did achieve its desired effect, to awaken Americans to ominous threat. Historians recognize the widely distributed Common Sense as the spark inspiring the colonists to declare their independence and free themselves by hating tyranny.
Liberal propaganda ignores all such distinctions while embedding in the public mind the simplistic association of “hate-speech” with any reasoned dissent from its party line. All criticism or disagreement with liberal doctrine is branded “hate-speech.” TV reeks with crass sentimentality (endless images of victimized minorities, oppressor whites, etc.), blocking out factual and critical analysis. As in ancient times, well-manipulated emotion of the masses, especially “hate,” overwhelms cool reasoning. This basic propaganda strategy works as well in our modern age (NAZI Germany, Stalinist Russia, Marxist England and America) as it did in the Roman Empire and the medieval Church.
The Congress is being pressured by powerful voting blocks to pass resolutions and laws banning hate speech. Rep. Wexler’s resolution (H.Res 35), with 150 cosponsors, condemns a pro-white group, the Council for Conservative Citizens, for “racism and bigotry.” (The CofCC promotes the preservation of Euro-white tradition and values, all of which is interpreted by H.Res 35 sponsors as hatred of minorities.) Amendments pending in committees could broaden the condemnation to include all “hate” groups. Debates in Congress seethe with fiery emotion by Black Caucus supporters undeterred by the utter vagueness of their key terms: “hate-speech,” “racism” and “bigotry.” These rhetorical epithets are launched like missiles, their literal meanings never analyzed, only the high-pitch emotion hatedly denouncing “hate.”
The pending anti-hate legislation is a next and natural extension of already existing norms embedded in decades-old “civil-rights” and anti-discrimination laws. This broad and enforced national policy is essentially egalitarian cultural Marxism, government-dictated uniformity of an entire society’s views and values. The liberal left dubs it euphemistically “political correctness.” The “party-line” is enforced daily by sophisticated propagandizing in TV newscasts and programs, movies and other media. Public schools and most universities (controlled by federal funding) reinforce party-line doctrine throughout their courses, denouncing traditional Euro-white civilization and replacing it with the new multicultural doctrine.
Violate any politically-correct norms or speak a word perceived as “hate” or “racist” and one is soon ostracized from the now-mainstream “group-think” society – or from one’s career and livelihood. Most Euro-whites, especially both major parties in Congress, have long since caved in sheepishly to the pressure, submitting meekly to government’s firm party line – and now its new demands to suppress all hint of “hate” in speech – as government interprets it.
So-called “hate-speech” today by Euro-whites is only – and critically – the American tradition of free speech against evils imposed by oppressive and manipulative government power. The real meaning of such “hate,” as with Paine and patriots in 1776, is the restoration in America of its cherished traditional values – especially the original Constitution and its 10th Amendment guaranteeing local control of peoples’ lives, explicitly banning centralized federal dictates. The liberal establishment knows this and deploys massive propaganda to defeat the Euro-white resistance movement. It knows, too, that no oppressive authority can long endure without silencing dissent by propaganda branding it “hate,” “heresy,” “treason,” “racist” and the like. If Congress bans so-called “hate-speech,” as in H.Res 35 and similar legislative edicts, it is by subterfuge banning free speech in America – and, a few generations later, ending Euro-white history in America.
